Chichester
13th May
Left Brighton around 8:45 a.m. Friday, passing David on Yacht Akira coming into harbour.
Enjoyed a few hours sailing before the variable winds forecast decreased to a F2
prompting us to start the engine to keep us “on track” for our ETA at the Chichester
Bar (not the pub).
Continued on engine for a couple of hours until the wind picked up again and we were
able to sail the final leg of the journey. Obtained a berth in Sparkes Marina in
Chichester, having fun mooring as Chris mis-threw the stern line not once but twice,
prompting the comment of his throwing “like a girl”. We know we are almost in The
Solent, as marina costs are higher. Time to look for sheltered anchorages now where
practical.
