Yacht Seaduction 2023

Falmouth

13th June.

We decided to leave Fowey early after a cup of tea and have our breakfast on route to Falmouth. The wind was very light and so we had the engine on leaving the river. We put the main sail up but with the wind rarely exceeding 4 knots the engine did not get turned off until we were moored up in the Falmouth Marina. We were pleased to see some familiar faces here – Tom and Linda, who now live in Falmouth and keep their own motorboat at the marina.

After a quick shower and change, Tom and Linda whisked us away for lunch in the yacht club and then on to their home for drinks and dinner after a walk round the town. This was an unexpected treat for us, so thank you Tom and Linda for making our first day in Falmouth so enjoyable. Unsurprisingly, we enjoyed a good night’s sleep in the marina. We also met David from Yacht Akira at the same marina. The last time we had seen each other was in Poole.

We were not impressed with the weather forecast for the next few days. There was a wind force 8 in the detail, so we decided that we would make a trip home for a few days to check all was well there and to generally recharge our own batteries ready for the next leg of our trip to Penzance
